WHAT WE INSTALL

Standard Downspouts

Aluminum or steel downspouts in any color to match your home. Properly sized for your roof area and rainfall.

Downspout Extensions

We extend your downspouts away from the foundation so water drains safely into your yard, not against your house.

Underground Drains

For homes where surface extensions are not practical, we install underground pipes that carry water far away from your foundation.

WHY DOWNSPOUT PLACEMENT MATTERS MORE THAN YOU THINK

The average roof sheds hundreds of gallons of water during a single rainstorm. All of that water funnels into your gutters and exits through your downspouts. If those downspouts deposit water within 6 feet of your foundation, you are slowly damaging the most expensive structural component of your home.

The International Residential Code requires downspout water to discharge at least 6 feet from the foundation. Many older homes in Agawam, Feeding Hills, and Southwick were built before this standard was enforced. We assess your current setup and tell you exactly what needs to change.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many downspouts does my home need?

The general rule is one downspout for every 30 to 40 linear feet of gutter. Most homes are under-downspoutsed, which causes gutters to overflow at the ends during heavy rain. We assess your roof area and rainfall patterns to recommend the right number.

How far should downspouts extend from the house?

At minimum, 6 feet. For homes with basement moisture issues or clay soil, we recommend 8 to 10 feet or an underground drain that carries water even further away.

What are underground downspout drains?

Underground drains connect to the bottom of your downspout and run water through a buried pipe to a discharge point in your yard, a dry well, or a storm drain. They are invisible, permanent, and the most effective solution for chronic foundation moisture.

Can I add downspouts to my existing gutters?

Yes. We can add downspouts to any existing gutter system without replacing the gutters. We cut an outlet, install the drop, and run the downspout to a safe discharge point.

THE SPOTLESS YARD PROMISE

We use a magnetic sweep after every installation. Your garden beds are protected with drop cloths. Your flowers stay safe. Your kids and pets can play outside the same day we finish.

WHAT OUR NEIGHBORS SAY

"Water was pooling right next to my foundation every time it rained. Thrive added two new downspouts and extended the drains away from the house. My basement has been completely dry since."

Sandra L.

"I did not realize my downspout was dumping water straight into my garden bed and drowning my roses. They rerouted it and added an underground extension. Problem solved."
