Asphalt shingles are designed to be flexible. That flexibility is what allows them to expand and contract with temperature changes without cracking. When the oils in the shingles dry out — which happens naturally over time — they become brittle and start to fail.
Shingle sealing and restoration is a two-part process. First, we apply a bio-based oil treatment that soaks into the shingles and restores their flexibility. Then we apply a protective sealant that creates a new waterproof barrier on the surface.
