If your solar system is not producing what your installer promised, something is wrong. We use thermal imaging to find dead cells, wiring issues, and shading problems that are costing you money every day.
What You Need to Know
Solar systems are supposed to produce a certain amount of power based on your panel count, orientation, and local sun hours. If your actual production is significantly lower than that, you are losing money every month.
The most common causes of underperformance are: one or more dead or degraded cells, loose or corroded wiring connections, shading from new tree growth, dirty panels, and critter damage to wiring.
We use thermal imaging cameras to scan your entire array and identify panels that are not producing properly. A dead cell shows up as a hot spot on the thermal image — it is easy to find once you know how to look.
Signs You Need This
Your energy bills are higher than expected
If you are not seeing the savings your installer promised, your system may be underperforming.
Your monitoring app shows lower production than normal
Most solar systems have a monitoring app. If the numbers look low, call us.
Your system is more than 5 years old
Older systems are more likely to have degraded cells or connection issues.
You have had recent storm damage or critter activity
Both can damage wiring and reduce output.
How It Works
We review your production data
We look at your monitoring data to understand how much your system is underperforming and when it started.
We do a visual inspection
We inspect all panels, wiring, and mounting hardware for visible damage.
We scan with thermal imaging
We use a thermal camera to scan every panel and identify hot spots that indicate dead cells or wiring issues.
We give you a report and options
We provide a written report of everything we found and give you clear options for repair or replacement.
How much does a solar audit cost?
Most audits cost between $150 and $300. If we find issues that need repair, we quote those separately.
What if my panels are under warranty?
If your panels are still under manufacturer warranty, we help you document the issue and file a warranty claim.
Can you fix the problems you find?
Yes. We handle wiring repairs, panel replacements, and cleaning. We work with your original installer or independently.
How long does the audit take?
Most audits take 1 to 3 hours depending on system size.
What if everything looks fine?
Sometimes the issue is shading from new tree growth or a settings issue with the inverter. We check everything and give you an honest answer.
