SOLAR PANEL CLEANING
Dirty Panels Cost You Money Every Single Day.

Pollen, dust, and bird droppings block sunlight from reaching your solar cells. Studies show dirty panels can lose up to 25% of their output. We clean them safely and get your system back to full power.

What You Need to Know

HOW MUCH IS DIRT COSTING YOU?

Solar panels work by converting sunlight into electricity. Anything that blocks that sunlight — pollen, dust, bird droppings, tree sap — reduces how much power your system produces.

In New England, pollen season alone can coat your panels with a thick yellow film that blocks a significant amount of sunlight. Add bird droppings (which are especially damaging because they create a concentrated dark spot) and you can lose 15 to 25% of your system's output.

Most solar panel owners never think about cleaning their panels. But if you are paying a monthly loan payment on a solar system, you want that system running at 100%. We clean panels safely using deionized water and soft brushes — no harsh chemicals, no scratching.

Signs You Need This

IS THIS THE RIGHT SERVICE FOR YOU?

You can see visible dirt, pollen, or bird droppings

If you can see it from the ground, it is definitely affecting your output.

Your energy bills are higher than expected

If your solar system is not producing what it should, dirty panels may be the reason.

It has been more than a year since your last cleaning

We recommend cleaning at least once a year, ideally in spring after pollen season.

You live near trees or have birds that perch on your panels

Both dramatically increase how quickly panels get dirty.

How It Works

WHAT TO EXPECT

01

We inspect your system

We check all panels for dirt, damage, and any critter activity before we start cleaning.

02

We clean with deionized water

We use pure deionized water and soft brushes to remove all dirt without scratching the glass surface.

03

We rinse and dry

We rinse thoroughly and squeegee the panels to prevent water spots that can reduce output.

04

We check for damage

While we are up there, we check for any cracked panels, loose wiring, or signs of critter damage.

QUESTIONS WE HEAR ALL THE TIME

How often should I clean my solar panels?

At least once a year. In Western MA, we recommend spring cleaning after pollen season and a check in fall before winter.

Can rain clean my panels?

Rain helps but it is not enough. Rain does not remove pollen, bird droppings, or tree sap effectively. You still need manual cleaning.

Will cleaning void my panel warranty?

No, as long as it is done correctly. We use methods recommended by panel manufacturers.

How much does it cost?

Most homes pay between $150 and $350 for a full panel cleaning depending on system size and roof access.

Can I clean them myself?

You can, but getting on a roof safely is dangerous. We do not recommend it. The cost of professional cleaning is much less than an injury.
